Building Bamboo Debt Capital Markets Platform providing broad access to private credit markets in Brazil through data technology making investing easier with greater trust and transparency. Bamboo is changing the capital markets for private assets in Brazil where, today, companies and investors struggle to be connected in a structured way. Bamboo was born to digitalize and simplify access to debt capital markets with transparency and flexibility leveraging opportunities for connection among originators and investors of the New Economy. Today, large asset originators are increasingly companies with Tech DNA, such as fintechs, legaltechs, agtechs, ERP companies and transactional marketplaces. While there is ample capital looking for more yield with security and diversification, institutional investors are at the mercy of offline distribution of products without the ability to use abundant data to compare opportunities or to monitor asset classes to aid in capital allocation decisions. In addition to the big problem of analog distribution, there is a liquidity problem: if an investor needs to sell an alternative asset, negotiation is “over-the-counter”, usually with a large discount, often making a simple change of portfolio strategy impossible. Bamboo is the result of decades of experience in the capital markets: from working with equity derivatives at Credit Suisse, Structured Credit at IFL, convertible and high-yield bonds at Fore Research, Real-Estate at Xander, Latam Bonds at Maua, to raising capital and buying companies in my last role as Chief Strategy Officer at Movile, one of the most important platform investors in Brazil, where I had the opportunity to guide the growth of companies that have positively impacted Brazil such as iFood, Sympla, Playkids and Wavy, among others. Participating in the growth of many companies at different stages has helped me form a holistic view of how problems can be solved and how to build and develop teams to tackle growth challenges.
