Stephen E. Roulac, Ph.D., is a consultant, economist, scholar, writer, and futurist. Since 1972, he has headed Roulac Global, a firm that provides advisory and litigation consulting services on significant decisions of businesses, primarily concerning real estate involvements. Stephen Roulac's background reflects decades of study, leading academic credentials and includes year of experience, deep research and data mining and building and leading several businesses. Through his work, he has made fundamental and innovative research contributions and pioneered applications of economic analysis and management methods to real estate. As an informative professional speaker, Dr. Roulac has made presentations and speeches to hundreds of organizations and has been the keynote speaker or featured instructor at significant professional forums throughout the country and abroad. Among others, Dr. Roulac's clients have included Apple, Bank of America, California Public Employees' Retirement System, City of Los Angeles, Hallmark Corporation, Government of Singapore Investment Corporation, Merrill Lynch, and the U.S. Department of Labor. Dr. Roulac is an active author of real estate and business topics and has written hundreds of articles and authored or edited over a dozen books. He has written the "Property Strategy" column for Forbes, wrote the overview cover essay for Real Estate Capital Markets Report, and a column on strategic issues in pension investing for The Institutional Real Estate Letter. His "Modern Real Estate Investment: An Institutional Approach," has been recognized as an authoritative treatise on real estate investment practice. Dr. Roulac has served as adjunct professor at Texas A & M University, Texas Real Estate Research Center, and as a lecturer at the Graduate School of Management, UCLA. He served on the faculty of the Stanford Graduate School of Business for ten years, and concurrently held a joint appointment in the Department of Architecture, College of Environmental Design, and the Schools of Business Administration at UC, Berkeley. He was also an adjunct professor at Hastings College of Law. Dr. Roulac received his Ph.D. in Finance and Strategic Management from Stanford University, his M.B.A. with distinction from Harvard University, his JD from University of California, Berkeley, and his BA in Economics from Pomona College.
