In 1986, Michael Serruya and his brothers founded Yogen Fr\u00c3\u00bcz\u00c2\u00ae and have built the brand to over 1400 locations, with operations in over 42 countries around the world. Currently, Michael Serruya serves as the Chairman and CEO of Kahala Brands. Previously, he acted as President, CEO and Chairman of CoolBrands International Inc., until the time of the sale of the Company. As part of Mr. Serruya\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s responsibilities, he oversaw and managed the manufacturing and frozen DSD (Direct Store Delivery) network. CoolBrands owned the second largest frozen dessert and novelties plant in the United States, as well as the second largest frozen DSD system in the country. CoolBrand\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s frozen dessert business consisted of such notable national brands as Eskimo Pie\u00c2\u00ae, Breyers\u00c2\u00ae ice cream, Weight Watchers\u00c2\u00ae, Tropicana\u00c2\u00ae, Godiva\u00c2\u00ae, Yoplait\u00c2\u00ae, Betty Crocker\u00c2\u00ae and Welch\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s\u00c2\u00ae. Michael Serruya is currently involved with a number of retail brands ranging in different sectors from food to apparel, as well as a number of development projects. He and his family were the largest single investors in Jamba Juice\u00c2\u00ae, a 900 store retail chain located throughout the United States, where Michael Serruya previously sat on the Board of Directors. Over the years Michael Serruya and his brothers have been recognized for their entrepreneurial vision, by receiving the Ernst and Young\u00c2\u00ae \u00e2\u20ac\u0153Entrepreneur of the Year\u00e2\u20ac\u009d award in Canada. As well as, Canada\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s \u00e2\u20ac\u0153Top 40 under 40\u00e2\u20ac\u009d award. Michael Serruya and his brothers previously received \u00e2\u20ac\u0153Operators of the Year\u00e2\u20ac\u009d, presented by FoodService and Hospitality Magazine in Canada.
