Alexsis is the Founder and Managing Partner of Merian Ventures, an early-stage venture firm focused on investing in women founded, co-founded and majority-owned companies in the US and UK. Alexsis has extensive investment, venture and operations experience based on businesses she has founded or funded. As managing partner of Merian Ventures since 2015, Alexsis serves as a Board Member and Advisor to Merian Venture portfolio companies Provenance, Pivigo, Populus, Honeycomb, ImpactVision, CareerLark, Cirrus Identity and Compaas, among others. Merian Ventures was named after Maria Sibylla Merian, a botanist, entrepreneur and intrepid traveler born in 1647. In addition to Merian Ventures, Alexsis is a US-UK Fulbright Commissioner; Board member of the Oxford Internet Institute; Board member of The Oxford Foundry; Founder and funder of the WEInnovate STEM accelerator for Women at Imperial College, London; and Board Member and Advisor to companies she’s funded. Alexsis is also Chairman and Founder of The Althea Foundation, established in 2003 as a family office. Today, The Althea Foundation is a California nonprofit public benefit corporation and it is recognized by the Internal Revenue Service as a public charity described in Internal Revenue Code Sections 501(c)(3) and 509(a)(1).<\/p>\n
