Steve is the Founder and Managing Director at Red House Education, a K-12 knowledge brokerage and social venture capital firm. Most recently, Steve supported a national effort to improve the size and quality of the pipeline for superintendents and school district executives. He has co-led workshops on transition planning, board governance, political mapping, budget management, collective bargaining, organizational development, media relations, and community engagement with some of the nation’s most forward thinking superintendents. In only five years, over 120 senior school district executives who completed these workshops were hired into the superintendency. Prior to that, Steve was a Senior Consultant in the Education practice at Public Consulting Group, where he led teams of developers, subject matter experts, and operating staff through successful large scale software as a service (SaaS) implementations in several of the largest and most complex urban school systems in the country. Steve is a proud product of public K-12 schools and holds a BA in Political Economy from Skidmore College and an MBA from Clark University. He lives in Park Slope, Brooklyn with his wife and two children.
