Heather Redman is the Co-Founder and Managing Partner of Flying Fish Partners, a new venture firm funding tech companies in the Pacific Northwest and British Columbia, with a concentration on artificial intelligence and machine learning. Heather is an investor in TechStars, 9 Mile Labs, Founders' Co-op, Alliance of Angels and Pioneer Square Labs and an adviser to Blokable and iInnovate. She has served on the boards of several privately held companies and many industry associations and non-profit companies as well as on numerous advisory boards. She is the Chair of the Seattle Metropolitan Chamber of Commerce, Vice Chair of the Washington Technology Industry Association (WTIA), a Washington State University Regent, and a nationally recognized “tech” advocate, driving cities to create symbiotic relationships with tech companies–large and small. She is also a fierce believer in diversity as a key driver of success. Heather delivers a wealth of commercial and legal experience with more than two decades of success in the areas of business development, corporate development and structuring, strategy, operations, M&A, corporate and project finance, product acquisition, intellectual property, licensing, and tax. She has handled many corporate transactions including successful exits, financings and joint ventures for her companies. Her experience ranges from management positions in consumer products companies to B2B companies serving Fortune 500 customers. Heather has held diverse leadership roles, including VP Business Operations & GC at Indix Corporation, Principal and Senior VP at Summit Power Group, Executive VP and co-COO at Atom Entertainment, SVP and General Counsel at Getty Image and PhotoDisc, Inc. While at PhotoDisc and Atom, she led negotiations for their successful sales. At Getty, she served as General Counsel and managed the company's relisting on NASDAQ. Heather is active in local, state and national politics. She holds a JD (with distinction) from Stanford University and received her Bachelor's from Reed College.
