Dr. Amit Mehta leads our health-IT investment practice. As a highly-regarded practicing professional, Amit combines practical knowledge across the value-chain with entrepreneurial experience to help companies from seed through Series B. Amit manages our investments into Carbon Health, Notable Labs and Fitbiomics, in addition to driving our overall Health IT strategy. Prior to Builders, he was instrumental in deploying investments for Formation 8 in the health sector. His primary interest focusses on helping Builders' founders in market fit and establishing partnerships with hospital systems, clinics and ICNs. He is deeply interested in market validation of new technologies as well as successful strategies in go-to-market launches. Dr. Mehta completed his residency in Diagnostic Radiology at Harvard Medical School where he also completed a fellowship in Minimally Invasive Image Guided Surgery. He is a founder and the Chief Medical Officer at Intrinsic Imaging, a leading Healthcare IT company operating clinical trials in 64 countries globally for both pharma and biotech sponsors. He has co-authored three textbooks in Radiology, has widely published in peer-reviewed journals and currently is appointed as an SBIR/STTR reviewer for the National Institutes of Health. In addition to his clinical and operational pursuits, Amit serves on the boards of various start-ups and enjoys assisting entrepreneurs in launching early stage companies. He has been selected as one of the “Top 40 under 40″ by the San Antonio Business Journal.
