In 2021 the company announced conditional pre-orders for 1,350 aircraft from American Airlines, Avolon, Virgin Atlantic, Marubeni Corp, Iberojet and Bristow Group for an estimated $5.4bn. In December of that year, Vertical Aerospace listed on the New York Stock Exchange. Today the company is poised to launch the most advanced aircraft of its type ever designed, the VX4, with test flights expected to run in 2022.
