Dato' Syed Budriz graduated from Richmond College, The American International University in London with the Degree Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration and Economics. He started his career with Renong Berhad, a Malaysian conglomerate overseeing its business development, after which he ventured into the aviation industry working closely with the Airbus Group. Founder and former CEO of Sepang Aircraft Engineering (SAE) which provides maintenance, repair and overhaul services to AirAsia's fleet and other low cost carriers at its hangar facility in Kuala Lumpur International Airport. In 2011, he spearheaded the corporate restructuring exercise whereby Airbus acquired a 40% stake in SAE and its now an Airbus Group company. He is currently Special Project Director for Malaysian Resources Corporation Berhad for projects in Thailand. He is from the Royal Households of Selangor and Perlis. He serves in the Selangor Royal Palace with the Royal title of Engku Maharaja Lela Setia Paduka and he was conferred the award of Sultan Idris Shah (DSIS) in 2011 which carries the title Dato’.
