Brandee Barker is Co-Founder and Partner at The Pramana Collective. She is an expert in communications and digital strategy for high-growth tech companies and social campaigns. She has done projects with AirBnB, Groupon, Spotify, Square, Uber and Quora. In addition, Brandee has led communications strategy for Dropbox's first developer conference, DBX, and helped launch mobile word processor Quip. Prior to bootstrapping The Pramana Collective with her partners, Brandee was the first communications executive at Facebook. She helped shape the brand growing to more than 2,000 employees and 500 million users worldwide by her departure in 2010. During that time, she led the PR strategy for many major business milestones including, Microsoft ($240MM) and DST ($300MM) investments, Parakey and Friend Feed acquisitions, and many strategic partnerships. She launched hundreds of products and features, most notably News Feed, Pages, “Share†and “Like,†Facebook Ads, Facebook Platform and the initial translation of the site. She worked closely to advise the founders and executives, led the company through many challenges (News Feed and Beacon), and served as a public spokesperson in thousands of news stories. Brandee was Vice President at Zeno Group and led PR programs for Oracle’s applications business and the Gap’s corporate division. While a Vice President at Ruder Finn, she managed the Sony Electronics account and developed the firm’s West Coast consumer technology practice. Brandee was Director of Corporate Communications at Stamps.com and served as Director of Marketing at Oracle. She began her career as part of the team that established the Boston office of GCI Group. An advocate for women's empowerment, Brandee sits on the Board of the Somaly Mam Foundation and is active in several other causes. She is an investor in Wavii (acquired by Google), Trippy, Mightybell, Kitchit, BlackJet, Couple and Cowboy Ventures.
